Craft your policy position, from the heart
In preparation for April’s member meeting where we’ll break into small groups to prepare and practice articulating our viewpoints, we’d like everyone to pick one topic that they’re most passionate about and spend some time reflecting on it.
Please take a moment to think about your own personal story about how a particular policy impacts your life. From there we’ll be working in small groups to craft succinct yes and no questions to pose to MOCs so that they can’t dodge our questions.
We want each of our group members to be equipped with a well-crafted and practiced statement including:
- A personal story around a specific issue or topic
- Clear message of why this issue or topic specifically matters to you (and the public at large)
- A succinct yes or no question to wrap up your statement
We know how many issues are being thrown at us right now, for this assignment focus on something for which you have a personal story to share.
